4/6/2023 0 Comments Daun miana![]() This study used 30 rats divided into 6 treatment groups, each group consisting of 5 test animals, namely normal group, negative control, positive control, dose of 150 mg/kg BW, dose 200 mg/kg BW, and dose 250 mg/kg. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites in miana leaf ethanol extract, and to determine the effective dose of miana leaf ethanol extract in reducing urea and creatinine levels in male white rats. ![]() The minimum concentration of ethanol extract of Miana leaf which shows antibacterial activity against test bacteria is 3%. The results showed that the ethanol extracts of Miana leaf (Coleus atropurpureus L.) with concentrations of 3%, 6%, and 9% are able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis. The analysis used is descriptive analysis. Tests were carried out to observe the presence or absence of inhibitory zones of Miana leaf (Coleus atropurpureus L.) extracts against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Escherichia coli after 24 hours of incubation. The different concentrations of Miana leaf ethanol extract were used at 3%, 6%, and 9%. This type of research is an experimental research, using the method of well diffusion and diameter of the inhibition zone. ![]() This aims of this research were to study antibacterial activity and minimum concentration of ethanol extract of Miana leaf (Coleus atropurpureus L.) that gives antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Escherichia coli. One of the plants that has antibacterial properties is Miana leaf (Coleus atropurpureus L.) because they contain active compositions containing essential oils, steroids, tannins, flavonoids, and alkaloids. Infection is one of the health problems that is often experienced by the community, among others, infectious diseases that can be caused by Staphylococcus epidermidis and acute diarrheal diseases that can be caused by Escherichia coli bacteria. In related to conservation, local people west Halmahera have been cultivating Miana at their homegarden till today. Those phytochemcial content are strongly supposed playing as an important role in medicine because their pharmacologycal activities. ![]() Based on these following the phytochemical content the Miana plant consists of essential oil, tannin, flavonoids, eugenol, steroid, saponins, fitol, rosmanic acid, streptozocin, and quersetin. The result of study showed that Miana used to cure (disease number of village) back pain because of menstruation (2), cough (2), ulcers (2), menstruation pain syndrome (1), bleeding after childbirth (1), appetie enhancer (1), dry lips (1), hemorrhoid (1), and increasing fertility (2). ![]() Ethnobotanical data were collected from site at six villages, and then identified in plant herbarium laboratory. The aims of study are to record most utilization of Miana as medice at villages in west Halmahera and to explain about phytochemical of Miana which support its use as medicine based on the previous studies on pharmacology. After investigation, in fact the utilization of Miana as medicine has been implemented by almost local people west Halmahera. This plant is cultivated almost at every village in West Halmahera. Miana (Coleus scutellaroides (L.) Benth) is known as Mayana by local people west Halmahera. ![]()
